About Grace Catherine

Grace is a Sydney based ceramicist who fell in love with the craft after taking an evening throwing course. Upon portioning out a chunk of raw, dark clay, kneading it into a soft ball, and watching the way her hands transformed its shape as it spun on the wheel she felt an immense sense of calm. Grace has since developed a process that incorporates hand building, slab work, mould making and throwing techniques and a style that celebrates simplicity and functionality.

Grace is currently completing a residency at the Northern Beaches Creative Studio in North Curl Curl. Each ceramic piece is uniquely hand-made by Grace in her studio.
